house plans

So, on Friday I met with my house planner and finished my first revison of my house plans. She's going to finish it up, then call me and we're going to have a couple of more revisons...then the construction begins!! The target for breaking ground and building is Spring 2007. It's going to be here before I know it.
It was so exciting to actually go to my land and go over the design of my house with my planner, Wendy, and Mom and Dad. I could see it and it became real to me...I'm so pumped! Just a little shout out to thank my Jesus for blessing me enough to be able to do this. A second shout out to my Dad for being my General Contractor and saving me tons...not on my car insurance, but my house. :)

Stay tuned for more updates...

of late...

It's been a while...so here's some of the fun things I've been doing-

1. My brother turned 23 on July 15th. We had this big family BBQ including our family, my sister-in-law's family (for those of you that I talk to often...I refer to her as simply my sister-cause I love her that much :), and my sister's brother's wife's family. Whew...
Anyway, there ended up being about 100 people there. Great times!

2. I went to see Theory of a Dead Man at the Handlebar in Greenville with one of my favorite peeps, Allison. We met a couple of friends there and had a blast! The first two bands were beyond horrible...and by 11 I was ready to go. Theory came out and totally turned it around for me and made it worth every minute.

3. I went to Jax last weekend and had a most fabulous time with my homie, Nikki. We did nothing but lay out on the beach (and get harrassed by an old drunk guy), eat great food, and hang out in one of the coolest cities I've ever been to. In one of the resturants, we got to make our own smore's! It was awesome!!! I'm looking forward to going back...despite the 6 hour drive. :/

4. I just got back in town today from Charlotte on a work trip...which is yet, another cool city. However, I have no fun pictures to share. Paulie, I'm so sorry that I didn't call. This is a public apology. I hope you accept it along with a rain check. The next time I'm in Charlotte, we'll hang out.

I've had a great time the past couple of weeks and have been nothing short of busy, but loving every minute of it. I do miss the guys and ladies of Canterbury and plan on going back to visit this Monday!

(...so my pictures aren't uploading for some reason. I'll try to figure it out and re-post them on Monday)

wow...it's been a month

If you can't laugh at yourself, then who can you laugh at? So, I thought I would share this picture with all you peeps who would laugh at me...with me. haha! This was immediately after I was rolled into my room after my Gall Bladder surgery and I obviously had no idea this was taken. Funny stuff!

I also heard from my good friend, Dr. Grier, that once having your Gall Bladder removed your stool could become "greasy and foul smelling". So far, so good...but I'll update you guys if that changes.

On a serious note, thank you to all my great buddies that called me to check on me. It was much appreciated and nice to know that I'm loved. Well, maybe that's pushing it...but at least I'm thought about. :)

Costa Rica

Just let me start by saying that there's no way to describe how beautiful this place is and how much fun I had while I was there. Just for a brief summary- the waves were great (oh yeah-we were shreadin' waves, hangin' ten, the whole deal), the sunset insisted on different colors every night, pina coladas just don't get much better, and the people live the kind of lifestyle I would love to live. "Pura Vida" Just a carefree way of life...no stress, no worries. I loved everything about this trip...even the heat....just ask the guys.

I will download most of the pictures from the trip on my Flicker site soon. I'll keep the censored ones to myself. :) Just kidding....no censored pictures only one's of me looking fat. ha! Thanks to Jason and Lee for providing a wonderful trip with lots of good times. I would definitely recommend checking out CR if you ever get a chance...just be aware that you'll want to stay once you get there.

Yay!

Yay for lots of reasons:

1. I got a new camera and I love it! Canon Powershot S3 IS
It's so sweet...I'm still learning a lot about it and playing around with it so my picture taking skills should improve over time. :)

2. I just spent my first Monday night back at Canterbury and I had a blast! It's so awesome to have a group of friends you can hang out with and act all crazy together, but then at the end of the night pull some people aside and ask for prayer. Good times! (Yeah, that's mace in Sandy's hand...)

3. I'm leaving tomorrow to go to Hilton Head to spend a week with my family for Memorial Day weekend! I love time with my family. I'm sure there will be plenty of pictures from the beach that you can laugh at...cause I just got fat! ha!

Digital camera

ok - so, I'm a little behind the time. I don't have a digital camera. I want the convenience of having a camera that I can slip into my jacket pocket and download pictures right onto my computer.

Your feedback would be appreciated.
Are there any stories of:

"I wish I would have known...before buying my camera"
or
"You've got to get something with this feature...."

Anything would help. I'm doing my research, but I thought your feedback would help me out. Since all my buds are in with the time...and Dr. LaBar is one great photographer (that's his picture above). I'm sure you have some helpful info for me! :)

Thanks!
